About Us
Espresso Allegro was formed in 2011 to bring to you a cup of great coffee, whether you’re at work or at play, in the Hobart area. In what is unarguably Australia’s most beautiful State, renowned for its fine cheeses, wines, beers and friendly hospitality, coffee is one of the staple products that keeps Tasmania moving. We at Espresso Allegro are proud to offer you the benefits of great coffee, served with a unique musical experience and a sense of fun which we hope will stay with you for the whole day.
Mike
I’ve worked in a variety of industries, from I.T. to managing a classical music radio station, to barista. Music and coffee are the staples of life, more human pursuits than computers will ever be - and more satisfying. And that’s where the coffee comes in: To be able to serve you a cup of gentle warmth and happiness, directly to your workplace, place of recreation, or wherever else you might be, is an opportunity to share a common human experience and to spread a sense of goodwill and cheer for the coming day. Does that sound ambitious? I speak as one who has witnessed the transformation from morning gloom to a sparkling optimism, or from afternoon despair to a sense of real contentment. Good coffee can do that. And it’s my pride to play my part in helping people along through their day.
Sarah
I've also worked in I.T. and in the telecoms industry before seeing the light and working in the coffee business for several years. My first love (apart from my husband) is permaculture and the sustainable use of our land and resources. Bringing a little happiness into people's lives is important to me, and the Espresso Allegro experience is just that - premium quality coffee, excellence in customer service, and sharing the time of day with people who love what we do.
What we offer you
Espresso Allegro is run by Mike and Sarah, and assisted in no small measure by ’Beano’, our faithful Hyundai i-Load coffee van (see picture above). On board we have a fridge to keep your drinks and chocolates nice and cool, an Expobar commercial grade espresso machine, coffee grinder, a pie-warmer to keep you glowing throughout the Winter, and a blender for those cool drinks in Summer. And of course, a high-quality sound system so you can enjoy the music that is all a part of the Espresso Allegro experience.
Coffee for Everyone
We are always looking to improve the range and diversity of our daily run around Hobart. In our sincere belief that what the world needs now more than ever is good coffee, we’re also keen to provide you with cups of hot, warming coffee at your local festival, sports event, school fete, local market, corporate staff day, or indeed any situation in which the love of good coffee can be satiated by Espresso Allegro.
Commitment to Community Groups
We also financially support any community or not-for-profit group that engages us for one of their events by returning a percentage of the takings for that day.
